Children’s Nutrition

Children need to consume enough and balanced amounts of nutrients from the four food groups to eat healthily. Care should be taken to consume enough amounts of food every single day such as milk, yogurt in milk group and chicken, eggs, dried legumes in meat group, vegetable and fruit group and bread, bulgur, pasta, rice in cereal group. Children should be careful to consume as much as 2-3 cups of milk or yogurt and 1 matchbox of white cheese, especially for bone and tooth development.

They are also recommended to be more resistant to diseases and to consume at least 5 servings of fresh vegetables or fruit each day for healthy growth and development. The most important meal for students is breakfast. After starving all night, our bodies and our brains need the energy to start the day. If you do not have breakfast, there is the distraction, fatigue, headache and reduced mental performance. For this reason, starting with an adequate and balanced breakfast in the morning is crucial to the success of the students in school. Care should be taken to ensure that children have the habit of having breakfast on a regular basis every morning.
